Overview
Opportunities represent active sales deals. Pipelines organize those opportunities into stages so you can see what is moving, what needs attention, and what has reached an outcome.
Create an Opportunity
To create an opportunity directly:
- Open CRM
- Select Create Opportunity
- Choose the business and pipeline
- Enter a title
- Add the customer, owner, value, probability, close date, priority, and description you know
- Save the opportunity
New opportunities enter the first stage of the selected pipeline unless you choose another available stage.
Choose a Pipeline View
The pipeline board groups opportunity cards by stage and shows the count and total value in each column. Drag a card to another stage to update it.
Use List view when you want a compact table showing stage, customer, expected value, and owner. Both views use the same opportunity records.
When you manage more than one business or pipeline, use the selectors above the board to switch context.
Keep Opportunity Details Current
Open an opportunity to review its details, activities, timeline, documents, and handoff options. Select Edit to update:
- Title and description
- Customer and owner
- Expected amount and currency
- Probability
- Expected close date
- Priority
Probability affects the weighted forecast, while the expected close date determines which forecast period contains the opportunity.
Move an Opportunity
Move an opportunity by dragging it on the pipeline board or selecting a stage from the opportunity page.
Stage changes appear on the timeline. Moving an opportunity to Proposal can also create a quotation follow-up activity according to the CRM automation settings.
Mark an Opportunity Won or Lost
Move a completed sale to Won. This records the win date and makes the won-deal handoff available.
When moving an opportunity to Lost, enter a reason. Use a clear reason such as budget cancelled, timing, competitor, or no response so you can understand lost sales later.
Create Another Pipeline
To add a pipeline:
- Open CRM > Settings
- Enter a pipeline name
- Enter its open stages separated by commas
- Select Create pipeline
Pricefic assigns probabilities across the open stages and adds Won and Lost at the end. Terminal stages do not need to be included in the comma-separated field.
