Overview
Pricefic lets you track stock for inventory items, adjust available quantities, and review how stock changes over time.
This helps you keep item availability accurate while still using the same item catalog across documents and other workflows.
Inventory Items vs Services
Not every item needs stock tracking.
Use stock tracking for items you physically hold or count. Services usually do not need quantity-on-hand tracking.
When an item is set to track inventory, Pricefic can show:
- Current stock level
- Reorder point
- Movement history
Viewing Stock Details
Go to More → Inventory and open an item to view its stock details.
If stock tracking is enabled for that item, you can review:
- Current quantity on hand
- Reorder point
- Cost price
- Recent stock movements
This gives you a quick view of whether the item is healthy, low, or out of stock.
Adjusting Stock Quantities
To update stock manually:
- Open the item
- Click Adjust Stock
- Enter a quantity
- Choose a reason
- Add optional notes
- Save the adjustment
Use a positive number to add stock and a negative number to remove stock.
Adjustment Reasons Explained
Pricefic currently supports several adjustment reasons:
- Purchase — Stock increased because you bought or received more units
- Return — Stock changed because items were returned
- Correction — You are fixing a counting or data mistake
- Damage — Stock decreased because items were damaged or lost
- Opening Balance — You are setting starting stock for an item
Using the correct reason makes your movement history easier to understand later.
Reorder Points and Low Stock
If you set a reorder point on an item, Pricefic can help you notice when quantity is getting low.
As a practical rule:
- Stock above the reorder point is healthy
- Stock at or below the reorder point needs attention
- Zero or negative stock usually means you should review the item immediately
Choose reorder points that match how quickly you can restock and how often the item is used.
Reviewing Recent Stock Movements
The item detail page shows recent stock movements for tracked items.
Each movement can include:
- The date
- The quantity added or removed
- The reason
- The user
- Optional notes
This helps you audit changes and understand why stock levels moved.
Viewing Documents That Used an Item
From the item page, you can also use View Documents to open documents that reference that item.
This is useful when you want to:
- Check where an item was billed
- Review historical usage
- Investigate unusual stock movement patterns
