What Template Customization Covers
Pricefic lets you customize the structure of your document templates so your invoices, quotations, receipts, and similar documents match the information you actually need to share.
From the template settings, you can:
- Show or hide line item columns
- Rename line item column labels
- Add custom business fields
- Add custom customer fields
These changes affect how the document appears when you preview, download, or send it.
How to Open Template Settings
- Open a document you want to create or edit.
- Scroll to the Items section.
- Click Edit columns and contact fields.
This opens the template configuration panel with three tabs:
- Columns
- Business
- Customer
How to Customize Line Item Columns
Open the Columns tab to control which item fields appear in the document table.
Pricefic currently supports these line item columns:
- Description
- Quantity
- Unit price
- Amount
For each column, you can:
- Turn it on or off with the Show switch
- Change the column heading using Column label
This is useful when you want shorter labels, clearer wording, or a simpler layout for certain document types.
How to Add Business Fields
Open the Business tab to add extra fields for the business shown on the document.
Each field has:
- Label: the field name shown on the document
- Value: the actual information to display
Examples of business fields you might add include:
- Tax ID
- Registration number
- Website
- Support line
Click Add business field to create a new one, and use Remove to delete any field you no longer need.
How to Add Customer Fields
Open the Customer tab to add extra fields for the customer shown on the document.
Each field also uses a Label and Value pair.
Examples of customer fields you might add include:
- Customer ID
- VAT number
- Purchase order number
- Delivery contact
- Project name
Click Add customer field to add more entries as needed.
How Saved Fields Behave
Custom business and customer fields are only shown on the final document when both the label and value are filled in.
If you already maintain reusable custom fields on your saved business or customer profiles, those details can also be used when you select that contact while creating a document. You can manage those profile level fields from the business and customer forms in Pricefic.
Tips for Cleaner Templates
- Keep labels short so the layout stays neat on PDF exports.
- Hide columns you do not need instead of leaving them empty.
- Use business fields for sender details and customer fields for recipient details.
- Preview the document after changes to confirm spacing and readability.
